Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Terrafy (the "App", "we", "us") handles information when you play. We designed Terrafy to need as little personal data as possible. You can play without giving us your name, email address, or any real-world identity.

1. Information we collect

Account identifier

When you first open the App, we create an anonymous account using Firebase Authentication. This assigns a random user ID to your device. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID. It exists only to save your game progress.

Gameplay data

To let you continue your farm across sessions and devices, we store your game state on our servers (Google Firebase / Firestore). This includes:

• A display name, only if you choose to enter one.
• Your in-game economy: coin balance, transactions, and purchases.
• Your farms: the virtual parcels you claim, their soil, and crop cycles.
• Your progress: harvests, career rank, reputation, challenges, and hired workers.

This is game data, not personal information about your offline life.

Crop evaluation

When you harvest a crop, the App sends the season's gameplay details (the care actions you took, virtual soil and weather) to a third-party AI service (OpenAI) to generate a harvest grade and farming advice. No account identifier or personal information is included in this request.

Location (optional)

If you grant permission, the App reads your device location once, while you're using it, for a single purpose: to open the world map near you instead of a default location. Your location is used only on your device to position the map — it is not stored on our servers, not linked to your account, and not shared with anyone. You can decline, and the map simply opens at its default view; you can change this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services.

2. What we do NOT collect

• No location tracking or storage. Beyond the one-time map-centering above, we do not track your movements, log your location, or send it off your device.
• No advertising or tracking. We do not show ads, do not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA), and do not track you across other apps or websites.
• No analytics SDKs collecting behavioral profiles.
• No contacts, photos, microphone, or health data.

3. How we use information

• To create your account and save/restore your game progress.
• To run the game's server-authoritative economy (so scores and coins can't be tampered with).
• To generate your AI harvest grade and advice.
• To send local reminders (see below) and operate leaderboards you take part in.

4. Notifications

With your permission, the App schedules local notifications on your device to remind you to tend or harvest your crops. These are generated on-device; you can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications.

5. Third-party services

We rely on the following processors, each under their own privacy terms:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions) — hosting, accounts, and data storage. Firebase privacy.
• OpenAI — generates the harvest grade and advice from gameplay data. OpenAI privacy.

6. Data retention & deletion

Your game data is kept while your account exists so you don't lose progress. Because accounts are anonymous and tied to your app installation, you can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the email below — include enough detail for us to locate the account. Deleting the App may also make an anonymous account unrecoverable.

7. Children's privacy

Terrafy is a general-audience game and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we require no personal information and show no ads, the game collects no data that would identify a child. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

8. International users

Our servers are operated through Google Cloud infrastructure and data may be processed in the United States and other countries. By using the App you consent to this processing.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
